Description
General aims: - to learn about the reflection of light - to be able to interpret natural phenomena - Explain the law of light reflection. - introduce with the rules of drawing an image in a flat mirror and image properties. - To tell how mirrors appeared in the world and in Lithuania. - Explain the main concepts that describe lenses: • concave, convex mirrors; • focal length of mirror • main mirror focus, center of curvature, principal axis • application of concave and convex mirrors; - to acquaint with the course of reflection of rays of light from a concave and convex mirror - to know the language associated with light and mirrors - to develop positive learning habits such as organisational and problem-solving skills. Linguistic aims: - to read English with ease - to understand content - to learn from written texts - to express opinion - to enable students to understand topic correctly - to develop academic language - to translate words connected with reflection in English into the mother tongue using their own words. Subject specific aims: - to familiarize students with the topic of light, mirror, application of mirrors Target group age: The web sites is aimed at 15 – 16 year old students. This web sites and virtual experiment can be used by anyone who wants to broaden their knowledge of physical properties of light, mirrors. Also, the resource is recommended to teachers who want to teach probability using English. Level of competence in English (CEFR) A2/B1 Time required to use the resource with the students: The web sites contains 6 more short chapters so it is recommended to use the resource during 2 lessons. How to use it The teacher should ask the students to read about the light reflection at textbook at home before the lesson and then do the proposed project in order to enable students to use the required knowledge in practice. The students might get the answers and feedback at the end of the book. Possible difficulties for the students Students whose level of English is poor might have problems with understanding the content.
