General aims: - to learn about the Solar and Moon eclipse - to be able to interpret natural phenomena - remember the law of linear light propagation. - remind how shadows and half-shadows are formed. - Explain how the different phases of the Moon form. - Explain how the lunar eclipse occurs when it is partial, when - complete. - Explain how a Solar eclipse occurs when it is partial, when - complete. - Recall how the solar and lunar eclipses were perceived ethnically culture as described in Lithuanian literature. - to know the language associated with Solas, Moon eclipe - to develop positive learning habits such as organisational and problem-solving skills. Linguistic aims: - to read English with ease - to understand content - to learn from written texts - to express opinion - to enable students to understand topic correctly - to develop academic language - to translate words connected with probability in English into the mother tongue using their own words. Subject specific aims: - to familiarise students with the topic of light, mirror, application of mirrors Target group age: The videos is aimed at 15 – 16 (10 class) - year-old native speakers of English. Therefore, it can be suitable for non-native students of 12 - 13. This video can be used by anyone who wants to broaden their knowledge of physical properties of Moon and Solar eclipse. Also, the resource is recommended to teachers who want to teach probability using English. Level of competence in English (CEFR) A2/B1 Time required to use the resource with the students: This two videos recommended to use during 2 lessons. How to use it The teacher should ask the students to read about the Solar and Moon eclipse at textbook at home before the lesson and then do the proposed project in order to enable students to use the required knowledge in practice. Also teacher can ask to do practise excersise at home for example to make a Solar and Moon model at home The students might get the answers and feedback at the end of the book. Possible difficulties for the students Students whose level of English is poor might have problems with understanding the content.
