Description
Carnivorous plant, sometimes called insectivorous plant, any plant especially adapted for capturing and digesting insects and other animals by means of ingenious pitfalls and traps. General aims: Students will develop an understanding about coexisting organisms Subject specific aim: learn about carnivorous plants, their adaptation to catch prey, feed and their prevalence. Linguistic aims: - to read English with ease - to understand content - to learn from written texts - to enable students to understand topic correctly - to translate words into the mother tongue using their own words. This task is aimed at students of 13-15 years old. Level of competence in English (CEFR): B1 +/B2 Time required to use the resource with the students: about 30 minutes How to use it: the lesson can be started by looking at the carnivorous plants photo gallery that is included in this product. The product can be used as the main material of the topic. After getting acquainted with useful and interesting information about plant predators and completing additional tasks assigned by the teacher, students can perform a short quiz presented in this product for generalization and self-assessment. Possible difficulties for the students: students who have poor knowledge of English may have difficulties to understand the topic.
