Description
Practice of Math exercises involves active thinking and reasoning. When students get the practice they need they become more confident and proficient in the task. Practice of Maths exercises allows students to gain a deeper understanding and make connections between concepts. Students are doing more than passive rule following – they are engaging in thinking mathematically.
Reading and comprehension are implicit in the tasks required by the exercises. The purpose is to learn a simple arithmetic exercise but discussing answers in English will give practice in saying the numbers in English.
This should take no more than 20 minutes for the calculations but longer if the vocabulary is also discussed.
