Description
This resource features a simple experiment that can be carried out in class or at home. The aim is to think about the properties of polymers and how they may react to a physical stress.
The activity is presented as a list of simple instructions that will develop the students' reading and comprehension skills. If they follow the instructions they will learn a property of polymers through a fun activity.
The students should have basic English vocabulary and then use the activity to extend their technical skills.
The activity requires little preparation but a read through and discussion of instructions is advised.
The basic activity could be demonstrated or completed by individuals. It could be completed in one class period but there are suggestions for extension activities that could form project work.
